It's MS awareness week. Multiple sclerosis affects 9000 people in Minnesota and Western Wisconsin, according to MS society. One of those people is Eden Prairie's Julie Serlin-Lunda. Serlin-Lunda was diagnosed with MS in 2001 after her legs gave out while she was jogging. She suffers occasional numbness and gets frustrated sometimes with her inability to control her own body, but for the most part she leads a normal life with her family. She raises money every year for the MS challenge walk, an annual 3-day, 50-mile walk. To learn more about Serlin-Lunda, check out this week's Eden Prairie Sun Current. Eden Prairie Police responded to another vehicle break-in at Lifetime Fitness on Prairie Center Drive. A 49-year-old Eden Prairie Man had his laptop and Tumi roller bag stolen from the backseat of his vehicle. His rear driver side window was smashed on Feb. 2 between 7:15-8 am The laptop is valued at over 00 and the bag alone is worth 00. The window damage totaled 0. Police advise people to conceal their valuables in the trunk, preferably before they arrive at the gym. The City Council meets tonight at 7 in the council chambers at City Center. It looks like the councilk will be awarding contracts for the Miller Park renovation and street sweeping services this year. The agenda says the council will also recognize the Eden Prairie Pom Squad after their national championship.
